After a lunch at Joe Muer’s in Detroit in early
1998, inspiration struck Michael and Cheryl
Mehr. They decided to purchase a struggling
diner with the idea to revamp the old diner and
bring it back to it’s days of glory. Not one year
later, The Metro Times Readers poll voted The
Mack Avenue Diner, the best Detroit Diner
Award. After nearly 10 years, The Mack Avenue
Diner is still impressing the neighborhood with its
creative and affordable menu.
The local’s will tell you to come out for their
Friday Fish Fry. The batter is homemade,
and so good, Chef Kenny has to guard the
secret! While you are there, try their
Chicken Fajita Salad for a new twist on a
old favorite!
