



















Pete Kotsis
President
Pete is a seasoned veteran with over 55 years in the foodservice industry. He continually keeps up to date on food service
trends, especially Greek & Mediterranean food products. Pete began working for his father, Athas Kotsis at Atlas Importing
Company in 1949. Pete helped grow the company through Greek & Mediterranean food product deliveries to nearby
markets and restaurants. After serving in the Korea War in the early 1950’s, Pete took over the business and was joined by
his brother James Kotsis. In the 1960’s Pete’s younger brothers, John Kotsis and Ted Kotsis, joined the company to help
further expand the business.
Prior to joining Atlas Wholesale Food Co full time, Pete attended Wayne State University and graduated in 1950 with his
Bachelors of Business Administration with a minor in Physical Education. After graduating, Pete served in the United States
vs Korean War from 1950 to 1952.
Pete is the eldest son of Athas Kotsis; founder of Atlas Wholesale Food Co. Pete is happily married for over 50 years, has
one daughter, and is a proud grandfather of three grandsons.
John Kotsis
Vice President
John can be credited for spearheading the sales force for more than 35 years. In addition to sales, John worked with his
brother, Ted Kotsis, on several large scale projects: moving the business to a new, larger facility in 1976, implementing a
company wide computer system in 1984, and designing a state of the art 120,000 cubic foot on site freezer facility in 1989.
Prior to joining Atlas Wholesale Food Co full time, John worked as a Digital Design Engineer for General Dynamics in
Rochester, New York and Fort Worth, Texas. At General Dynamics, John was responsible for designing navigation and
weapons systems for the F-111 Swing-Wing Fighter Jet. In 1967 John earned his Bachelors of Science in Electrical
Engineering from the Detroit Institute of Technology.
John is the third eldest son of Athas Kotsis; founder of Atlas Wholesale Food Co. John is happily married for 25 years with
four children. John is also a proud grandfather of four grandchildren.
Ted Kotsis
Chief Financial Officer
Ted is responsible for the company’s finances, managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable. With over 35
years experience of managing Atlas Wholesale Food Co’s finances, Ted brings an analytical approach to the dynamic
business environment.
Earlier in his career, Ted worked at Computer Programming Institute (CPI), as a recruiter for the computer programming
and punch entry curriculums. In 1971, Ted earned dual Bachelors of Science degrees, Physics and Mathematics, from
Wayne State University.
Ted is the youngest son of Athas Kotsis; founder of Atlas Wholesale Food Co. Ted is happily married for more than 30
years, and has three children. Two of his children, Michael Kotsis and Emmanuel Kotsis, now work at Atlas Wholesale
Food Co as well. Emmanuel has been working as summer help only, as he is currently pursuing an undergraduate
degree at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
Michael Kotsis
Chief Operating Officer and Director of Human Resources
Michael leads the drive for new business development, along with updating vital processes, technology, systems, and
equipment throughout the company. Michael has six years of business process improvement and advanced supply chain
optimization experience.
Prior to joining Atlas Wholesale Food Co, Michael worked for Optiant Supply Chain Solutions in Burlington, Massachusetts.
At Optiant, Michael redesigned and optimized supply chains for several Fortune 100 companies around the world.
Implemented results generally yielded in the tens to hundreds of millions of dollars savings annually. Prior to joining
Optiant, Michael worked for Dell Computer Corp. in Austin, Texas. At Dell, Michael supervised workers on the server
manufacturing facility as a direct manufacturing supervisor, delivered numerous manufacturing process improvements as
a process engineer, and proactively benchmarked Dell operations in China, Malaysia, Ireland and the United States as a
Best of Breed analyst. Michael earned his Bachelors of Science, Industrial and Operations Engineering Degree from the
University of Michigan Ann Arbor in 2001.
Michael is the son of Ted Kotsis, CFO, and is the grandson of Athas Kotsis; founder of Atlas Wholesale Food Co. Michael
is the first member of the 3rd generation to join the company.
John Kohl
Director of Sales & Marketing
John leads the sales force and is responsible for business growth and development of new product lines as well as non-
traditional customer segments. John came from a background in sales and marketing across multiple industries.
Prior to joining Atlas Wholesale Food Co, John worked for Bluelinx Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia in an inside sales
capacity. John was responsible for generating millions of dollars worth of solid leads for his company to close throughout
the Midwest United States. At Bluelinx, John developed a consultative relationship with customers to provide total supply
chain solutions including; JIT Inventory, Network procurement, and lean inventory programs. Prior to Bluelinx, John worked
for AT&T in Atlanta, Georgia as a business solutions sales executive. John graduated cum laude from Miami University of
Ohio in 2004 with his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
John is the grandson of Athas Kotsis; founder of Atlas Wholesale Food Co. John is the second member of the 3rd
generation to join the company.
